American Eagle, going for the goal. The U.S. company has signed FC Barcelona soccer player Lamine Yamal as a global brand ambassador in a five-year deal that will encompass exclusive campaigns and collaborations starting next summer.

After having counted with the American actress Sydney Sweeney as the image of its last fall campaign, the company advances in its strategy of collaborations with international and emerging stars.

“Soccer attracts an unrivaled global audience, and our multi-year partnership with Lamine Yamal puts American Eagle at the heart of the fan base,“ said Jennifer Foyle, president of the company.

American Eagle has joined Lacoste, Kérastase and Dior in appointing new ambassadors as part of their strategies to reach new audiences. The French crocodile brand announced the signing of American actor Adrien Brody as global ambassador for its eyewear line and star of the international Lacoste Eyewear campaign.

Hair care company Kérastase, on the other hand, tapped one of Hollywood’s most iconic actresses, Demi Moore, in its bid for timeless beauty and in a partnership that celebrates feminine strength, elegance and self-expression.

The luxury house Dior has also resorted to this strategy by announcing the appointment of British actor Josh O’Connor as a figurehead of the brand and in alliance with the path he walks alongside its creative director Jonathan Anderson, with whom O’Connor maintains a close friendship.

American Eagle managed to keep its sales stable through the third quarter of the current fiscal year, despite the fact that profit continued to decline. Specifically, the company achieved sales of 3,736 million dollars in the period ended November 1, 0.3% more than in the same period of the previous year. Profit fell 53.8% to 104 million dollars.
