Frankfurt to Host 1,700 Exhibitors Across 16 Halls at April’s Techtextil & Techprocess
With a focus on textile innovation, Germany’s fairs are anticipated to attract attendees from a global spectrum, bringing together exhibitors from fifty different countries.
Techtextil and Techprocess present their new edition, which will be held once again at the Messe Frankfurt fairgrounds from April 21 to 24. This year the event, focused on giving visibility and creating synergies between companies specialized in textile fabrics and processes, will have 16 pavilions and 1,700 exhibitors.
At a press conference on Thursday, Sabine Scharrer, director of brand management of the fairs, and Ivonne Seifert, director of marketing communications, have outlined the main novelties of the next edition, which aims to be the first of its kind in the world. The next edition is intended to be the most international of all, with visitors from more than 100 countries and exhibitors from up to 50 countries, 70% from outside Germany.
This year, the focus will be especially on high-performance garments, but also on protective clothing, protagonists of the military sector, “the fastest growing sector in the industry”, explained Seifert. At the last edition there were 180 exhibitors from the defense sector, and that figure is expected to be higher this year.
“The industry needs an international, innovation platform where all the important players come together,“ said Seifert. “Collaboration is key; trade fairs always give orientation and an overview,“ he has maintained. For the first time, at this edition there will be “a separate area for chemicals and textile dyes,“ two of the most evolving areas.
The head of communication of the fairs has also addressed the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), “which is transforming the world in which we live, workflows, business models”. In this regard, she highlighted the value of the innovation award to be presented at this edition, for which 15% more candidates have applied this year.
For her part, Sabine Scharrer, director of brand management, highlighted the fact that the fairs “cover the entire textile value chain, with exhibitors showing the latest technologies, with advanced productions and technology for textile materials, cutting or processing, among others”. Twelve industry segments will be covered, including fibers and yarns, composites, chemicals and dyes.
Although the organization does not offer provisional data on expected visitors, in the last edition up to 35,000 people from 112 countries visited the event, and this figure is expected to grow this year. In addition, the return rate of visitors to the event stands at 85%.
