Polène Launches First Italian Flagship, Marking a Milestone in European Growth
The French company has unveiled its flagship store in Milan, marking its debut presence in the country. This launch is a key step in their global retail expansion, with plans to enter markets in the United States, China, South Korea, and Dubai.
Polène starts 2026 with a good pace. As Modaes advanced in November, the French leather goods company has raised the shutter of its first flagship store in Italy. Located at number 37 of Alessandro Manzoni street, in Milan, and with 343 square meters, the boutique is part of an expansion plan of its network of stores, which includes the opening of new spaces internationally, in markets such as the United States, Dubai, China and South Korea.
The company has landed in the Italian market in one of the most emblematic streets of Milan, a few meters from Monte Napoleone street, in the heart of the exclusive Quadrilatero della Moda.
With a palette of gradient colors, the store forms a sensory journey with textures and ceramic pieces by the Italian artist Clara Grazolino that accompany the visit through the different rooms.
Polène landed in Denmark and Germany with its first flagship stores last year
Polène will showcase its complete offer in its new Milan store while landing in other markets internationally. The French firm plans to raise the shutter on other flagship stores in Asia in the coming year, with locations in Japan, Singapore, South Korea and China, as well as intensifying its presence in the United States, specifically in Chicago and California. The company has also developed plans for expansion in Dubai.
In Europe, the firm founded in 2016 by siblings Antoine, Elsa and Mathieu Mothay and owned since 2024 by the L Catterton fund, launched its expansion strategy last September, with the opening of its first store in the German market, located in Hamburg, in the commercial Neuer Wall. Two months later, it landed for the first time in Denmark, with an establishment located in Højbro Plads square, in the heart of Copenhagen’s historic center.
In 2023, Polène reached €142 million in sales, according to Le Monde, and a year later strengthened its financial muscle with a minority stake in the company. The financial muscle was strengthened a year later with the minority entry of L Catterton, LVMH’s investment vehicle, an operation that did not alter the family’s control and made it possible to accelerate expansion without sacrificing the house’s style.
