Golden Goose increases its turnover as it continues to negotiate its sale. Specifically, the Italian footwear company has increased its turnover by 13% in the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period last year, to €517.1 million.

The company could close its sale in the coming weeks. The Permira group, which owns the company, is in talks with HongShan Capital, a Chinese investment fund that has submitted an offer valued at €2.5 billion. Negotiations are at an advanced stage, as HongShan Capital is the only company that has put a proposal on the table.

The boost in results for the period was linked to a 21% year-on-year increase in the weight of direct-to-consumer sales, which accounted for 79% of the company’s revenues in the first nine months of the year, compared to 74% in the same period last year.

Golden Goose also posted double-digit growth in all the regions in which it operates, with Emea (which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa) posting 15% growth in the first nine months of the year, and the Americas posting 10% higher sales in the same period.

Adjusted gross operating profit (ebitda) was 173.6 million, up 7% year-on-year, with a gross margin of 33.6%. “We have achieved another quarter of uninterrupted and profitable growth,“ celebrated the CEO of the Golden Goose group, Silvio Campara, who assures that the company is “well positioned” to continue growing.

Golden Goose’s global store estate reached 227 stores at the end of the period, with twelve new openings. The new locations include Tokyo, Chengdu (China), Bucheon (South Korea), Mumbai, Singapore, Manila, Ibiza, Paraggi (Italy), Venice airport and shopping centers in Milan and Dubai.
