Diesel has appointed a new CEO after two years of vacancy. Andrea Rigogliosi is taking over the Italian fashion brand from Miu Miu, owned by the Italian Prada Group, where he was previously global head of retail and commercial.

Diesel’s last CEO, Eraldo Poletto, resigned in 2023 after only seven months in the position. Poletto had replaced Massimo Piombini, CEO from 2020 to 2023. Following Poletto’s departure, OTB Group President Renzo Rosso has taken over the leadership of the brand.

Rigogliosi arrived at Miu Miu in January 2024. Previously, he was president of the European region for the house of Fendi (LVMH) for more than two years. One of his longest career paths was at Christian Dior, where he was general manager in Italy from 2013 to 2018, then held the same responsibility in France for three and a half more years. He also held various positions at L’Oréal, from 2004 to 2008.

OTB Group is currently led by Ubaldo Minelli, who has held the position of CEO since the departure of Eraldo Poletto from the company in February 2023. In 2024, OTB saw the departure of John Galliano from the creative direction of Maison Margiela, replaced by Belgian Glenn Martens.

According to the latest information published, among the latest plans of the group is the international expansion in Asia. The company, in fact, inaugurated last year a new headquarters in Shanghai, located in the Lee Gardens building, in the heart of the Jing’an district, known as one of the city’s central areas for trade and commerce.

OTB Group closed fiscal 2024 on a downward trend, with turnover down 4.9% to €1.7 billion. Gross operating profit (ebitda) also fell by 20% to €275.8 million. Diesel, meanwhile, posted a 7.4% increase in sales in stores and online. The conglomerate also owns Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni and Viktor&Rolf, and has a stake in Amiri.
