Loewe already has designers for the creation of its new center of excellence worldwide, the winners of the international competition have been Luis Vidal + Architects, who will be responsible for the creation of the space located in the technology center of Getafe (Madrid).

It is expected that the buildings that will make up this complex will have a surface area of approximately 270,000 square feet, which will house most of the activity of Loewe’s manufacturing division worldwide. The promoters of this project aspire for the fashion group’s new center of excellence to obtain “the highest environmental and sustainability awards, including Leed and Well platinum,“ according to the architectural firm.

The project management of the Loewe center of excellence in Getafe will be carried out by Luis Vidal + Architects, while the project management will be in charge of Bovis from Cbre, Turner & Townsend, and the construction will be for San José.

Loewe has continued to expand its network globally, with a new opening in the United States. Last July it opened a store at The Mall at Short Hills, one of the most prestigious shopping centers in New Jersey. This operation responds to the brand’s global expansion strategy and comes just a few weeks after its landing in Cernobbio (Italy).

These new openings follow the departure of creative director Jonathan Anderson from the Spanish house to join Dior. The designer took the reins of Loewe in 2013, at just 30 years old, after the departure of Stuart Vevers. His arrival meant a metamorphosis. Loewe went from being a symbol of classic leather goods to become a benchmark firm for contemporary luxury, with sales that have multiplied to close to 2 billion euros, according to market estimates.

In parallel, the LVMH group, owner of Loewe, has also recently been in the news in the real estate field for having signed its new location in Madrid. As reported by Modaes, the French fashion conglomerate has reached an agreement to leave its current offices, located in the Fuencarral district, and move to the heart of the capital. It will move to number 4 Paseo de la Castellana, known as the IBM building, also facing Hermosilla street (adjacent to the former Garrigues headquarters) and a private street.

In economic terms, the LVMH group has started the 2025 financial year with a decline in its results, suffering the impact of the crisis affecting the sector. In the first quarter of the year, the luxury giant recorded a turnover of €20.311 billion, 2% less than in the same period of the previous year, when it reached €20.694 billion.
