Former H&M Chief Joins Mango’s Board as the Brand Strengthens Sustainability Efforts
With a strategic push towards global reach and eco-conscious practices, the company’s leap is powered by its executive’s know-how, who now serves as board president at Circulose after leading H&M as CEO.
Mango signs international talent. The Spanish fashion company has added a high-profile international fashion figure to its board of directors. The body decided last week to incorporate Helena Helmersson as an independent director, who joins the company’s pool of external advisors on the highest decision-making body.
With this decision, the company hopes to make progress in internationalization thanks to the knowledge of Helmersson, who has a long career in the sector. Helmersson served as CEO of the Swedish retail group H&M from 2020 to 2024, after several years at the company also in charge of areas such as sustainability, production and global operations.
Helmersson’s experience , however, is now also linked to sustainability development, with her joining last year as chairwoman of the board of Circulose, formerly Renewcell. Mango is carrying out a very ambitious plan, developing the brand and the assortment, and taking it to more customers around the world,“ she said, “while being at the forefront of sustainability practices in the sector.
Mango has signed Helmersson as part of its pool of independent directors
Mango’s commitment to a profile like Helmersson’s, in fact, comes shortly after the Spanish company has sealed its entry into the capital of The Post Fiber, as advanced by Modaes. Shortly before, in mid-June, Mango’s retail park in the United States reached fifty stores.
Helmersson joins the other five independent directors on the board of directors: Jordi Canals, professor and president of the Corporate Governance Center of the Iese Business School; Jorge Lucaya, founding partner of AZ Capital; Jordi Constans, director and former executive of national and international companies; Marc Puig, president and CEO of Puig and Manel Adell, former CEO of Desigual and director of several companies in the sector.
Together with them, Toni Ruiz acts as Chairman of the Board, as well as CEO, Jonathan Andic, as Vice-Chairman, and Daniel López and Margarita Salvans as executive directors. The company is undergoing a forced reorganization following the death of Mango’s founder, Isak Andic, at the end of last year, which has meant, among other things, the departure of Jonathan from the management of Mango Man.
