Inditex has focused in recent months on the international expansion of its youngest fashion chain, Bershka, which has landed in Denmark with its first store in Copenhagen. With more than 160,000 square feet and with the original structure of the historic building, Bershka has conceived its new store in the Nordic countries, while opening its flagship store in Spanish city of San Sebastian.

Vimmelskaflet, one of the main commercial axes of the city, hosted last Friday the opening of the first Bershka store in Denmark, as part of the expansion of the Spanish group’s chain internationally. With more than 16,000 meters distributed on two floors, the store will have the collections of women, men and BSK Teen, its youngest line.

On the other hand, at number 3 Fuenterrabia Street, in the northern city of San Sebastian, the chain has also raised the shutter on its flagship store, under the Uchi-Etxe concept, which combines the essence of Japanese (uchi) and Basque (etxe) houses, and is designed by El Departamento, a studio of the Basque company El Departamento.designed by El Departamento, a Madrid-based architecture and interior design studio that also designed the Nude Project offices in Barcelona.

Bershka opened a flagship store in Manchester in early August, located in the Trafford Center shopping center and measuring 13,000 square feet, the store features augmented reality technology.

In addition, the chain is also making inroads in the Indian market, where it did not have any physical store, until mid-February, when the group launched the first Bershka store in Mumbai, announcing, in parallel, the launch of its online store in the market, through the Myntra platform.

Over the last year, the Inditex group has expanded its network of stores belonging to the Bershka chain in the international market, with openings in Venezuela, Sweden, Italy, Paraguay and India, and now the United Kingdom. Zara also landed in Venezuela last year with its largest store in Latin America, with a 54,000 square feet flagship store located in the Chacao shopping center in Caracas.

Inditex closed the first quarter of 2025 with sales up only 1.5%, to €8.27 billion, and increased its net profit by 0.3%, to €1.30 billion euros, compared to the same quarter of 2024. This growth is lower than in the previous year, when the world’s leading fashion retailer increased its sales by 7.5% and its profit by 9%.
