Givaudan Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of US-Based Belle Aire Creations
In a strategic move towards its 2030 expansion goals, the Swiss powerhouse has revealed its intention to acquire a leading American fragrance company. The transaction is expected to finalize by the year’s end.
Givaudan continues its expansion plan with a focus on the United States. The Swiss fragrance and scent giant has announced its intention to acquire U.S.-based Belle Aire Creations. The price of the transaction has not been disclosed.
As part of its 2030 strategy, Givaudan is in negotiations to purchase the U.S. company, with the aim of intensifying its geographic presence and expanding its product categories and materials, which it expects to grow by up to 6% in sales.
Although the financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, the Swiss group said in a statement that Belle Aire Creations would have represented approximately 65 million Swiss francs ($81.5 million) in additional sales for Givaudan by 2024.
Givaudan increased its turnover by 3.4% in 2024, compared to the previous year
Givaudan plans to fund the transaction from existing resources and expects the transaction to close by the end of the current fiscal year or early 2026, retaining Stacey David as CEO of Belle Aire Creations, who has held the position since 2020.
The Swiss group shook up its top management in August on the occasion of the retirement of Gilles Andrier, its CEO since 2005, who will hand over to Christian Stammkoetter, until now Danone’s president for Asia, Middle East and Africa since 2022. The official change will take effect on March 1st, 2026.
The company, one of the world’s largest producers of fragrances and aromas, closed the first half of the year with a turnover of 3.8 billion Swiss francs ($4.7 billion), an increase of 3.4% over the same period last year. At constant exchange rates and excluding acquisitions, the increase was 6.3%, the Geneva-based company reported.
