Benetton Revamps Production Strategy During Group Restructuring
The Italian powerhouse streamlines operations with the merge of Se-Schema Eta and Bm-Benetton Manufacturing, both under the Edizione umbrella. This strategic move comes amid losses recorded by both entities in 2024.
Benetton eliminates a “step”. The Italian company has announced its merger with Se-Schema Eta, the company that controlled Bm-Benetton Manufacturing, within the Edizione holding company, simplifying the company’s corporate and production structure. With this acquisition, Benetton will come directly under the control of Edizione, as reported by Milano Finanza.
The company continues its restructuring under the leadership of Claudio Sforza, CEO of the group since June 2024. The operation will be carried out through a simplified procedure, and without a share transaction, as the company Se-Schema Eta already owns 100 percent of the group’s industrial arm, according to the same media.
This project is part of the losses recorded by Se-Schema Eta in the last fiscal year. The group, which also controls the companies Olimpias, Benetton, Property 347 and Ron-Retail Omnia Network, closed 2024 with €35 million in losses. At the same time, the company BM-Benetton Manufacturing also ended the period in the red, with lossesof up to €20.7 million.
Benetton accumulated a debt of €230 million at the end of 2024
Benetton, which started operating as an industrial giant to become a fashion brand as well, is carrying out this transaction with the aim of halving losses by 2025 and reaching break-even by 2026.
The company split its assets and business functions into seven new companies under a holding company at the beginning of October, keeping the historic name of Benetton Group, it will centralize the financial and legal management functions.
In this way, the group is divesting its real estate holdings from the rest of the business, which would allow the company to sell part of these and reduce the business’s debt, which stood at €230 million at the end of the previous year.
