From Barcelona to New York: Tous Launches Global Pop-Up Tour for Anniversary
Barcelona’s beloved brand celebrates four decades of its iconic Bear with a debut pop-up on Rambla Catalunya, setting the stage for upcoming showcases at El Palacio del Hierro in Mexico and New York’s Rockefeller Center.
Tous lands in Barcelona to celebrate four decades of its emblematic Bear. The Spanish company began in October four months of celebrations to commemorate the forty-year history of its icon. Now, it begins a route of temporary stores, with the first stop at number 66 Rambla Cataluña, in Barcelona, to be followed by others in Mexico and New York.
The first space located in Barcelona opened last Saturday, November 8th, and houses a huge Double Bear-inspired bear at the heart of the store. With a bold, matte design on one side, reflecting diffuse and distorted images, it contrasts with a mirrored surface on the other side.
Located at El Palacio del Hierro in Mexico and Rockefeller Center in New York, these new spaces are conceived as “unique and experiential spaces that invite you to discover the essence of the icon through a sensory and immersive journey,“ explains the brand in a statement.
Tous lands in Barcelona with the special collection formed by forty bears as part of the fortieth anniversary of the icon
Tous will have a collection formed by forty bears that it created on the occasion of its fortieth anniversary, created with different jewelry techniques, materials and finishes, which also includes limited and special editions.
Since its birth in 1985, the Tous bear has been reinterpreted in countless versions, materials and sizes, following trends and collaborating with different creators and artists around the world.
The company collaborated with the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona with the donation of one of the first prototypes of its emblem, created by Rosa Oriol in 1985 and incorporated into the museum’s collection in 2017.
