Decathlon, going for the Games. The French fashion and sports equipment giant will be the official supplier of the International Paralympic Committee’s uniforms for the Milan Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. The company’s designers and engineers have conceived a total of 350 complete outfits and 8,000 pieces.

The company will outfit the Committee’s entire delegation, including board members, staff and consultants taking part in the Games, which will be held from March 6th to 15th next year.

In recent days, other brands in the sector have also been announced as sponsors for the teams participating in the sporting event. The Italian group Moncler, specialized in outdoor fashion, will return to the epicenter of winter sports as official sponsor of the Brazilian Olympic Committee and as technical sponsor of the Brazilian Snow Sports Federation.

Sports fashion continues to move closer to the playing field and competitions. In November, El Pulpo’s sponsorship of the women’s futsal team was also announced. The Spanish company designed the team’s official suit, with which they traveled to the Philippines to participate in the Women’s World Cup.

On the other side of the pond, fashion and lifestyle brands are also committed to sport. Abercrombie&Fitch announced last September its collaboration with the National Football League (NFL), the first time the league has signed a sponsorship agreement.

Decathlon, for its part, opened eighteen new spaces in stores throughout Spain dedicated to soccer last August , following its strategy of specializing in different sports, announced last July. The giant, which has the Spaniard Javier López at the helm of the business, closed the 2024 financial year by reducing both sales and profit in the domestic market, after a 2023 in which it still grew, albeit timidly. Decathlon’s Spanish subsidiary posted a net profit of €71.44 million in 2024, down 42.3% from €123.8 million in the previous year.
