Spanish Streetwear Brand Scuffers Expands with London Pop-Up Launch
The Madrid streetwear sensation has made its mark in Soho with a temporary store, a strategic move as it hunts for a permanent foothold in London’s competitive retail market.
Scuffers is making a move in London. The streetwear fashion start up has landed in the British capital with a temporary space located in Brewer Street, in the Soho district, which will remain open for a year while waiting for the company to find a place to raise the shutter on its first permanent store outside Spain.
Founded by Jaime Cruz and Javier López in 2018, Scuffers has set its sights on London to open the doors of what will be its first store in the British market. The company already has its own points of sale in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, where it kicked off its physical expansion in the summer of 2024.
The Spanish company has also relocated its offices in recent months. Previously located in Madrid, Scuffers is now in Pozuelo de Alarcón. “We are more comfortable with this location,“ Cruz told Modaes.
Scuffers posted a turnover of €8.09 million in 2023, the last year with available data
Scuffers has a global presence in markets such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France, through its online channel. The company’s international leap adds to the incursion of other streetwear fashion brands in markets such as the United States, where Nude Project landed last October with a pop up in Miami.
The company recorded an increase in its turnover in the last fiscal year with available data. In 2023, Scuffers Partners increased its size fourfold, from €2.11 million in 2022 to €8.09 million in 2023.
The company’s result also skyrocketed. While it posted an operating profit of €0.69 million in 2022, rising to €3.05 million in 2023, the net profit stood at €2.32 million in 2023, compared with €0.59 million in 2022.
