Lululemon and Lotto announce their entry into India, increasing the fashion brands’ craze for the country, which is no longer just an alternative to China’s production, but also has a high growth potential for the industry.

The Canadian sports equipment company has partnered with Tata CliQ, one of the country’s largest companies, to enter in the second half of 2026 with its first store in the form of a franchise. In addition, the company will also sell through Tata Cliq Fashion and Tata CliQ Luxury.

Lululemon currently operates in thirty markets, including North America and mainland China. Its aim, in India, is also to drive “wellness and community initiatives” to engage with its potential audience.

For its part, Lotto, an Italian sportswear company, has teamed up with Agilitas Sports, a local sportswear company in India that owns its exclusive rights in India, South Africa and Australia. Its arrival begins with a line of premium sneakers and, by next year, the company will be introducing apparel and accessories.

They are not the only companies that have set their sights on India. A few months ago, Inditex sealed the acquisition of a 14% stake in the joint venture it has in India to manage its network of Zara stores and created two new companies for the country.

Mango, on the other hand, also operates in the country through Myntra, with whom it has built a network of more than one hundred stores. Last year, it also created a subsidiary in the market. Tendam, for its part, also announced a year ago the signing of an agreement with the same Myntra to enter India, starting with Women’secret.
