Ripley closes the second quarter on an upward trend. The Chilean department store company reported growth of 3.7% in the second quarter of the year, while net income rose 41.5%. Net income closed the period with its highest second-quarter figure in seven years.

In the second quarter, the group’s revenues reached 533.160 billion Chilean pesos ($551 million), while in the first half of the year they reached 1,028,366 million Chilean pesos ($1.06 billion), 5.4% more than in the same period of 2024.

“This performance was driven by a favorable macroeconomic context in Peru, which included lower inflation and higher consumer activity, along with the appreciation of the Peruvian sol against the Chilean peso,“ Ripley said in reference to the sales performance. “In addition, the growth of the banking segment in Chile contributed positively, with an expansion of the loan portfolio,“ he added.

In the retail segment, revenues increased by 2.6% year-on-year, reaching 391,785 million Chilean pesos ($405 million), thanks mainly to the results obtained in Peru.“In this market, comparable store sales grew by 9%, favored by a more dynamic economic environment, lower inflation and the appreciation of the Peruvian sol against the Chilean peso,“ the group detailed.

In Chile, retail revenues decreased 0.6% year-on-year to 247.61 billion Chilean pesos. This result reflects a 5.5% growth in comparable store sales, driven by the influx of tourists, which was offset by a lower number of stores and a reduction in e-commerce sales volume, in line with the company’s profitability-oriented strategy.

In the second quarter, the company’s net income amounted to 15,736 million Chilean pesos ($16.2 million), 41.5% higher than in the second quarter of 2024. For the first half of the year, the net result was 31,112 million Chilean pesos ($31.2 million).
