Momad says goodbye to September. The Madrid fashion, footwear and accessories fair held its last edition from September 11th to 13th at the Ifema fairgrounds, registering a slight growth in visitors of 11% compared to 2024. Among the attendees, 25% were international from 70 countries. The next event will be held in February, while the September edition will be brought forward to July 23rd, 24th and 25th next year, following the change of schedule due to the arrival of Formula 1 at Ifema.

In what was its last edition in September, Momad was marked by the international projection of its more than 300 exhibiting brands, among which were names such as Cacharel, Alba Conde, Matilde Cano or Vilgagallo. The show will open a new stage together with the Intergift and Bisutex fairs, which will hold their next appointment in February, while Madridjoya will concentrate its call in September 2026.

The fairs are a reflection of what is happening on the street, a clear mirror in which the situation of consumption is shown,“ analyzed Julia González, director of the Momad, Bisutex, Intergift and MadridJoya fairs, pointing out that Ifema’s most successful formats have to do with tourism (Fitur) and food (Fruit Attraction). “Unfortunately, people today prefer to travel or live experiences rather than buy a dress,“ she said about the evolution of the fashion sector, which is currently at a low point, a trend that contrasts with the boom times of the past.

Ifema has been forced to reschedule its agenda in view of the arrival of the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix, which will land at Ifema from September 11th to 13th, 2026, a project with which the capital expects to revolutionize the panorama and boost the economy, with an economic impact in the region of more than €450 million per year and 10.10,000 direct jobs, according to estimates by the Community of Madrid.

“After multiple consultations, seeking consensus and favoring the interests of as many companies as possible, we have decided that we have to be brave because it is worth taking a risk and testing the results,“ assured González, detailing that the next edition of the shows in February will once again take place on the usual dates at the beginning of the month, while the next Momad event will bring together professionals between July 23rd and 25th, 2026. “We have realized that most companies arrive at Momad in September with 80% of the stock sold, so bringing the dates forward could be positive,“ assures the director of trade fair business, Juan José Estévez.

This year, the increase in the participation of Latin America has stood out. Colombia has been present with firms and entities such as crafts of Colombia, in addition to the official delegation of Bogota Fashion Week, which came for the first time with a careful selection of emerging designers.
