New step in Turkey to strengthen its position in global sourcing. The Istanbul Fashion Exporters Association (Ihkib, in its Turkish acronym) has presented a new project aimed at its suppliers to respond to the growing demands of international brands in sustainability, traceability and digitalization in the fiscal year 2026.

The program, called Twin Transition in the Apparel Supply Chain, will run for 12 months and is supported by the Istanbul Development Agency through the 2025 Twin Transition Financial Support Program.

According to Mustafa Paşahan, vice president of Ihkib, “Turkey’s textile sector has been a strategic pillar of our export economy. With this project, we seek to strengthen the sector’s existing advantages by accelerating green and digital transformation, and build long-term sustainable capabilities in our supply chain.“

The project envisages the expansion of Ihkib’s existing Digital Transformation Center into a Digital and Green Transformation Service model, which will offer operational and sustainable maturity assessments, action plans, mentoring and advice to manufacturers. In addition, webinars will be held and access to funding and consultancy will be provided for companies interested in European and national funds.

The initiative is implemented in collaboration with the Turkish Exporters Assembly and involves the participation of more than twenty companies, as well as the involvement of institutions and representatives of global brands. Its activities include the creation of a Twin Transition Council to align the sector with market expectations and promote sector-wide transformation strategies.

The program will culminate with an international conference entitled Türkiye in the Twin Transition of the Apparel Supply Chain, which will showcase the Turkish industry’s progress in sustainability and digitalization.
