Private, Secret, Luxurious: Louboutin Ventures Into Real Estate
The shoe luxury house has expanded its presence in Melides, Portugal, by renting out two opulent villas. This coastal haven also hosts the designer’s private residence and the Vermelho boutique hotel.
The French luxury footwear and accessories company enters the real estate business with the acquisition of two private villas for rent in Melides, on the Portuguese coast. La Salvada and La Maison des Bateaux are the two properties Louboutin has acquired, for an unpublished asking price.
La Salvada, with an area of 2,690 square feet distributed between the common areas and two of the suites decorated with works of art and personal pieces of the French-Egyptian designer himself, also has a swimming pool and offers sea views. The price per night is €2,200.
On the other hand, La Maison des Bateaux offers 1,600 square feet and opts for a rustic style typical of the Alentejo coast, where these two luxury villas are located. It is a restored traditional house, distinguished by its textiles, which pay homage to Portuguese craftsmanship. With capacity for up to six people and a terrace with swimming pool facing the rice fields, the price per night for this property starts at €1,700 per night.
Christian Loubutin opens the neighboring doors to his private home
Two years after the opening of his boutique-hotel Vermelho, also located in the coastal city and a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux network, the French group joins these two neighboring projects on the Portuguese coast.
Guests enjoying an overnight stay in these luxury villas will also be treated to breakfast at the Vermelho hotel, as well as the possibility of requesting a private chef, room service and even a personal shopper.
Vera Gonçalves, general manager of Hotel Vermelho, explained that “these two villas are private design and decoration projects, which originally had no commercial purpose. Their opening for rental represents the opening of the doors to the private world of Christian Louboutin,“ who also owns a private home in the area.
