Jonathan Anderson Secures Designer of the Year Hat Trick at Fashion Awards
The British fashion industry took center stage on Monday night at the Royal Albert Hall in London, celebrating top talents such as Delphine Arnault and future Hermès creative director Grace Wales Bonner.
Dior, protagonist of the London evening dedicated to design. The French maison was the most awarded at the latest edition of the Fashion Awards, held on Monday at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The gala featured Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Dior, receiving the Designer of the Year award for the third consecutive year, and Delphine Arnault, chief executive of Christian Dior, taking the special recognition for her “exceptional contribution” to the fashion industry.
Jonathan Anderson emerged as the winner of the award for his creative direction and oversight of Dior’s men’s and women’s collections since early 2025, as well as for his namesake brand JW Anderson, which he transformed earlier this year into a lifestyle brand focused on design and craftsmanship.
Other highlights of the event included Sarah Burton, Givenchy’s creative director since September 2024, who was recognized with the British Womenswear Designer award for her debut during this year’s fall season, where she presented hourglass-effect coats and jackets, geometric baby dolls and triangle dresses.
The Fashion Awards honored well-known industry names such as Grace Wales Bonner, who will join Hermès as creative director in 2027
Meanwhile, Grace Wales Bonner was also honored with the British Menswear Designer award for her eponymous brand, Wales Bonner, founded in 2014. The designer was recognized for her inspiration from art and film, as well as her reinvention of classic tailoring by incorporating textured embellishments, craftsmanship and cultural elements into her designs, which are developed at Savile Row’s Anderson&Sheppard tailoring. The creative will join Hermès as creative director of menswear in 2027, taking over from Veronique Nichanian, who has a career spanning more than 38 years at the house.
Finally, the Vanguard award, which recognizes the vanguard of the new wave of British fashion, was awarded to Turkish designer Dilara Findikoglu for her eponymous brand, founded in 2016. The creative is known in the industry for her gothic aesthetic and punk designs.
