Zalando enlarges its headquarters and readies for major expansion in Berlin

Zalando, the German ecommerce giant will expand its central head offices in Germany’s capital, as disclosed in a press release. The company will initiate construction work next April and expects the building to be operational by 2023.

The new building will be framed on the campus that Zalando built three years ago in Berlin, which delivers a total of 10 buildings, summing up a surface area of ​​100,000 square meters. The project plans to build three more buildings by 2023.

Zalando’s new construction plan aims to create 450 new job opportunities

The construction starting next April for the new project will feature conference rooms, seminars, and training, and will incorporate a garden at the rooftop. The plans for the project have been presented and will be characterized by a structural display forming the letter Z.

Zalando completed the first half of the year with an increase in its turnover by 20%, securing 1.8 billion euros. However, the net profit of the group in the period decreased by 506 million euros, 12% drop than in 2018.
