Zalando boost its helm with tech talent: sings former Microsoft and Amazon execs
The company has appointed Barbara Daliri-Freyduni as new senior vice president of demand, a newly created position and Ralf Herbrich as senior vice president of data science and machine learning.

Zalando catches talent from tech giants. The German ecommerce group has added two execs, former Microsoft and Amazon, to support the company’s strategic priorities. Barbara Daliri-Freyduni has joined the company as senior vice president of demand, a newly created role. The executive, that will report directly to CEO Robert Gentz was, up until now, chief marketing officer for Microsoft.

The executive held similar roles in Google where she worked from 2007 to 2014. “She is a highly respected leader who brings massive experience in digital companies and a broad international perspective to Zalando,” stated Gentz.
Next January, Ralf Herbrich will join the team as senior vice president of data science and machine learning. The executive will report directly to the CTO Jim Freeman and has a background in Amazon, where he was managing director of the development center in Germany since 2013.
