Adidas and Zalando create alliance to test same day delivery in France

Adidas relies in Zalando to achieve the extra mile. The German sportswear giant started collaborating with ecommerce giant to do 24 hours’ deliveries.

The agreement only works in Paris, for now. Orders are sent from the logistics platform Zalando has in the French location of Moissy-Cramayel.

Consumers can have their orders in two hours, or at the latest, the following day, and has a cost of 4.95 euros. The pilot project will last between six and twelve months, to analyze results

With this Alliance, Adidas speeds its digitalization, increasing its ecommerce potential, at the same time Zalando starts testing new business opportunities using its logistics structure and its online delivery experience.

This agreement goes beyond the benefit its produces for its partners, it also covers a constant search in the industry to improve digitalization and to give responses to new logistic needs.

Adidas grew 3% in 2018, up to 22 billion euros, and rose its net benefit 45%, up to 1.7 billion euros, thanks, in part, to the American government fiscal reformation. Zalando, on the other hand, grew 20% its revenue, up to 5.3 billion euros, but its net earnings dropped 50%, up to 51.2 million euros.
