Ulta Beauty nurtures its management. The U.S. cosmetics distribution company has added Martin Brok, former CEO of Sephora, and Stephenie Landry, a former Amazon executive, to its board of directors.

Brok is founder and CEO of MB Capital Advisors, as well as a partner at private equity firm Advent International. He was chairman and CEO of Sephora for nearly two years and sits on the boards of cosmetics company Revlon and plant-based beverage producer Oatly.

The executive began his career at Coca-Cola, where he spent more than twelve years and, after a stint at Burger King, moved to Nike, where he worked for more than eight years. He is also currently a member of Primark’s strategic advisory board.

Landry has more than 19 years of experience at Amazon, where he started as a senior manager and moved through various management positions, including vice president of grocery and net zero operations.

Ulta Beauty recently announced that it will not renew its partnership with Target, which allowed the cosmetics distribution company to operate in Target’s 600-plus stores. Its agreement will end in 2026. In fact, Ulta Beauty gave notice in April that the company would pause openings in new locations.

In the same vein, Ulta Beauty has acquired the British chain Space NK as part of its global expansion. The aim is to incorporate the British market after years of focusing on the U.S. market. Space NK, which specializes in niche and high-end brands, has 83 stores in the UK and Ireland and closed 2024 with a turnover of 196.5 million pounds.

The company also plans to enter Mexico in the second half of 2025 through a joint venture with Grupo Axo, operator of brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Guess and Bath & Body Works.
