Next Gen Innovator Ambercycle Expands Team in Spain Amid Inditex Ties
The American company behind Cycora, the recycled polyester featured in collections from Zara, Ganni, Gap, and Patagonia, has appointed Adolfo Tannenbaum to spearhead its operations in Spain and parts of Europe.
Ambercycle has a strong foothold in one of the key markets for fashion in Europe, Spain. The U.S. company of new generation materials, which with less than a decade of history is becoming one of the major players in sustainability in fashion, has strengthened its presence on the European continent with the signing of a business director for Iberia: Adolfo Tannenbaum.
The executive joined the company at the beginning of 2024, first on an external basis, and since 2025 has been part of Ambercycle’s staff, and has the task of continuing to expand its client portfolio on the European continent. For the moment, one of the company’s major milestones was the signing at the end of 2023 of a purchase commitment with Inditex for Cycora, the company’s patented recycled polyester, for more than 70 million euros over three years.
Tannenbaum, who describes the agreement as “one of the largest ever signed in the industry,“ is precisely the person in charge of managing the U.S. company’s relations with Inditex, as well as seeking new customers, with a focus on southern Europe. “There are few brands that have a complete knowledge of their entire supply chain,“ he says, who is also responsible for facilitating the integration of Cycora into the supply chain of companies in the sector.
Ambercycle has hired its first executive to boost business in Spain
The executive, a graduate in business administration and management from the University of Barcelona and with a master’s degree in Digital Transformation from the Isdi school, has spent much of his career at a giant in the ingredient brands segment: GoreTex. After joining the company in 2010, Tannenbaum became chief marketing and retail officer in 2017, a position he held for three years. Between 2022 and 2023, the executive worked at Camper as the company’s account manager.
In addition to working alongside companies in the sector, the executive also manages Ambercycle’s institutional relations in Europe, with entities such as ModaRe or Barcelona Global, as well as with investors. The U.S. company, based in California, has already raised more than $50 million in three investment rounds since its founding in 2016, and which have given entry to its capital, among others, to fashion giants such as H&M, Bestseller or Zalando.
Despite not yet sharing its financials, Tannenbaum is confident about the business, which will take a leap forward “as soon as we start producing on a large scale.“ In the short term, Ambercycle is preparing the start-up of its first large plant with an industrial volume, to be located in Asia, and will then continue to replicate this model in other territories.

In parallel, the company founded in California by Shay Sheti and Moby Ahmed is also working to diversify this technology to other types of materials, always synthetic-based, such as polyamide. “We have the technology to separate the fiber, and we will implement it in other materials depending on demand, “ explains Tannenbaum.
“We want to be a brand that represents both sustainability and quality, but is accessible to the entire industry,“ he adds. So far, Ambercycle’s goal has been met, as Cycora is present in collections from large fashion retailers such as Inditex, through Zara, or Gap, but also from operators in the luxury sector, such as Ganni, or from the world of sustainability such as Patagonia. “The market is so big that, no matter how much competition there is, we won’t be able to keep up,“ says Ambercycle’s manager in Spain.
