OVS recovers from a weak fiscal year and reaches the halfway point of 2025 on a high note. The Italian fashion retail group ended the first half of the current fiscal year with the best results in its history. After closing the 2024 financial year with a slight drop in sales, the company has regained muscle and raised both turnover and profits.

Specifically, OVS closed the first half of the year (ended July 31st) with sales of €792.9 million, 4.1% more than in the first six months of a year ago. Gross operating profit (ebitda) exceeded the 100 million mark, thanks to a 14.3% increase over the previous year.

The best performance, however, corresponds to the company’s earnings. At the end of the first half of the year, OVS’s profit was €45.8 million, compared with €34.8 million the previous year, an increase of 31.7%. OVS attributed this increase to the growth in ebitda, whose margin increased from 11.7% to 12.8%.

“The spring summer collections have been very well received by consumers - the company explains in a statement -; after a weak first quarter due to the weather, sales in the second quarter increased by 3.5%. This trend is particularly positive considering that the sector as a whole in Italy posted a drop of around1%.“

By channel, the company’s direct sales, both through its network of stores and its website, rose by 5.4% year-on-year to €645.6 million. Indirect sales, on the other hand, which are much less significant in the total, fell. Overall, the turnover of franchises and marketplaces amounted to €147.2 million, down 1.3%.

OVS, the eponymous brand of the transalpine group, posted the best performance, with growth of 3.3% compared to the first half of the previous year. In total, the company sold OVS products for a value of €578.8 million. Through Upim, on the other hand, the company sold a further €180.9 million, almost the same figure as in 2024.
