Spain’s Nude Project Lands Stateside: First Pop-Up Launches in Miami
Spanish streetwear brand steps up its global game, debuting its first pop-up store outside Europe in the heart of Miami Design District, nestled among luxury giants, open until October 26th.
Nude Project crosses the pond. The streetwear fashion company continues its path of international expansion with the opening of its first store outside Europe. Miami Design District is home to the brand’s first temporary store in the United States, which opened on Saturday and will be open until Sunday, October 26th.
In one of the most recognized and prestigious areas of Miami and next to major luxury brands such as Hermès, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, has landed the first pop up of the Catalan company founded by Bruno Casanovas and Alex Benlloch. The temporary space is located between the Balenciaga and Galeria de la Opera stores.
Hundreds of people attended the inauguration this Saturday, where Nude Project was presented to the American public with a large tree as the protagonist in the middle of the premises, a DJ set and a bookcase turned into a secret passageway to a photo booth. A decoration in line with the company’s other nine stores, located in Milan, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, where it has two spaces, Ibiza, Bilbao, Valencia and its latest opening in Amsterdam.
“We were coming here without knowing that no one knew the brand that well,“ Casanovas noted on the occasion of the opening. “It’s the most surreal thing that has ever happened to me in my life,“ he acknowledged to the long lines that formed minutes before the shutter went up.
Nude Project was born in 2019 and has reached a turnover of 26 million euros in 2023
Nude Project will remain in Miami during Billboard’s Latin Music Week, to be held Oct. 20th-23th, during which Casanovas announced that the venue will offer “performances with surprise musicians,“ connecting the brand with the sensibility of those who “create more community than anyone else,“ as reported by Efe.
The company, which in the last year has grown through retail, opened its first store in Amsterdam last April, continuing with its international commitment. Located at 32 Leidsestraat, the store occupies 285 square meters on three floors.
Nude Project, which during the previous year doubled its workforce due to the company’s growth, was born as a digital native, but the openings carried out in recent years have led to retail now accounting for 50% of total sales. In 2023, the company had a turnover of 26 million euros.
The brand took its first steps in 2019, and since then, it has managed to position itself as one of the leading companies in the young segment, with even a limited and strategic presence in international markets. Pending results for the 2024 financial year, Nude Project closed the previous financial year with a turnover of €26 million, double that of a year earlier.
