Nike speeds in digitalization: buys Trace Mee startup

Nike steps up in technology. The American sportswear giant has acquired the startup created by the NFL player Russel Wilson, specialized in connecting celebrities with fans thought its own content.

The economic settlement wasn’t disclosed, even though the company has confirmed to Footwearnews that “it will be a compliment to the content strategy of the company thought its own platforms.”

The company was founded in 2017 and started as an app for sports, music or movie stars. However, in the middle of last year it began to swing towards a second product, the Tally app, specialized in sports prediction.

It works as a gambling game, in which the user can customize it according to their tastes in any club, game and sports competition. The app has developed a competition system together with other users for those who achieve more scale in the general ranking.

On Nike’s behalf, this hasn’t been the only purchase the company has made to strengthen his digital presence. Recently it launched a new cryptocurrency project and, also, acquired Celet, a company responsible for collecting data to analyze consumer trends and adapt retail products based on demand.
