Amiri takes the field. The Californian luxury fashion company will dress the two first division teams of Futbol Club Barcelona with tailor-made suits during European trips and finals until the 2029/30 season. The debut of this collaboration will be in this winter season and takes over from high-end collaborations with brands such as Thom Browne or Herno.

Mike Amiri’s eponymous brand thus consolidates its first agreement as a formal wear brand, although this is not its first foray into sports. The American firm has previously collaborated with athletes and clubs such as Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce or Canelo Alvarez.

The American designer and creative director has pointed out that “soccer and fashion share a spirit born of passion, precision and creativity, both of which are about mastering your craft and expressing who you are through movement and form”. The brand will tailor suits for the club’s men’s and women’s team players, as well as its managers.

Los Angeles-based Amiri, founded in 2014, joins a list of brands that have intertwined paths with soccer teams in recent years. Italy’s Juventus recently signed a deal with Giorgio Armani; Hugo Boss collaborates with London’s Tottenham Hotspur, and Louis Vuitton partnered with Real Madrid a few months ago.

The brand’s international expansion in recent years has led them to reach a forecast of 31 points of sale of their own worldwide before the end of the year. The last opening they carried out is located in Milan, the first flagship store of the brand in Europe, located at number 18 of the Quadrilatero district in Via della Spiga.

The company surpassed $300 million in sales in 2023, and counts OTB, the company that owns brands such as Diesel and Maison Margiela, as a minority shareholder.
