Eurozone economy grows only 0.2% in third quarter

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the euro zone maintains the same growth rate as in the second quarter, according to the latest data from the European statistical office Eurostat.

Eurozone economy grows only 0.2% in third quarter

 

 

Economy of the eurozone continues to grow moderately. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the region rose only 0.2% between June and September, compared to the previous quarter, according to the latest data from Eurostat. Eurozone GDP has increased 1.2% compared to the third quarter of 2018, one tenth more than in the second quarter.

 

In the European Union as a whole, the economy registered a quarterly increased by 0.3%, up from 0.2% in the previous period. On a year-on-year basis, European Union economy grew 1.3%

 

 

 

 

Among the large euro economies, Germany’s GDP increase of 0.1% in the third quarter, compared to a 0.2% decline in the second quarter of 2019. The country thus dodges the technical recession that experts anticipated.

 

The French economy rose 0.3% in the third quarter, the same percentage as in the previous quarter, while Italy registered a stagnation between June and September, after growing by 0.1% in the third quarter.
