After a record-breaking profit in 2024, the urban fashion company rides the wave of success with another promising year. By October 31st and throughout the first nine months, every segment of its portfolio expands.

Urban Outfitters posted double-digit growth in the third quarter and for the first nine months of the year. The U.S. fashion company, which specializes in urban style, posted sales of $1.53 billion in the third quarter of the year, 12.3% more than in the same period last year. In 2024, the company posted a record profit of $402.5 million.

 

As published in its earnings release on Wednesday, Urban Outfitters increased its net income by 13.1% to $116.4 million in the third quarter of its fiscal year (ended October 31st), compared to $102.9 million recorded in the same period last year.

 

The U.S. company also increased its turnover in the first nine months of the year, but at a slightly slower rate of 11.5%. The company has increased its profit in this period, which rose by 30.7% to $368.7 million.

 

 

 

 

By chains, Anthropologie once again represents the group’s largest volume, with sales of $634.8 million in the third quarter, almost 8% more than in the same period of the previous year. The Free People proposition is in second place, with sales of $399.8 million, followed by Urban Outfitters with $339.8 million. Rental platform Nuuly had a turnover in the period of $144.6 million, up 48%. Its restaurant offering, Menus&Venues, remained stable at $10.8 million.

 

For the first nine months of the year, all of Urban Outfitters’ offerings were up. Anthropologie posted sales of $1.81 billion, up 7.6% over the same period last year. Free People increased its sales by 11.2% to $1.17 billion. Urban Outfitters recorded sales of $946.5 million; Nuuly, $407.9 million (up 53%) and Menus&Venues, $30 million.

 

Retail sales continue to lead the group’s turnover, with sales of $1.30 billion in the third quarter and $3.72 billion in the first nine months of the year. In second place, but far behind, were subscriptions, with sales of $144.6 million in the third quarter and $407.9 million in the first nine months of the fiscal year. Finally, wholesale posted sales of $88.2 million in the third quarter and $239.5 million in the first nine months of the year.

 

Urban Outfitters CEO Richard A. Hayne hailed the upward numbers. “The trends seen last quarter have remained consistent with broad-based comparable sales growth and solid results,“ he added. His goal, he assures, is to “maintain sustained growth over the long term.“
