Sandro opens first stand-alone store in San Francisco

Sandro boosts its retail strategy. The French company, owned by SMCP group, has opened its first stand-alone store in San Francisco Premium Outlets in California. This is the first directly operated store of the company in the city.

The fashion company is already present in the city with two concessions in Bloomingdales and one in Saks Fifth Avenue. The new store will include off-price menswear and the womenswear garments.

The company, founded in 1984 by Evelyne Chetrite, is head-quartered in Paris and it is part of the SMCP group, that also owns Maje, Claudie Pierlot, and the recently acquired De Fursac. The group is owned by Chinese Shandong Ruyi, who acquired it for 1.3 billion euros in 2016.

At the end of its fiscal year 2018 the company reached sales for 500.6 million euros. It had 646 points of sale and it was present in 39 countries worldwide. Sandro’s chief executive officer is Isabelle Allouch, who was named last April after leading Claudie Pierot for five years.

San Francisco Premium Outlets is owned by Simon Properties, the biggest shopping center developer. The company has about 200 shopping centers in the United States. In its San Francisco Premium Outlet, located in Livermore Valley, the group has a space for about 180 brands.
