Isdin bids farewell to its president. Marian Puig is stepping down as president of the dermatological products company after ten years in the post, and more than twenty-five in the company. According to reports, the executive is retiring from the front line to devote himself to the management of his wealth.

 

Marian Puig’s career at Isdin began 25 years ago. In the first stage, since 2002, he was CEO. Then, ten years ago, he was appointed president. Puig will become honorary chairman. The executive has also resigned from his position on the board of trustees of the Esade and IQS university institutions.

 

After almost 25 years leading Isdin and its internationalization process, Marian Puig is ending his career at the dermatological laboratory,“ the company announced in a statement. “Marian has built a successful business project, whose legacy goes far beyond the economic figures,“ the text continues.

 

 

 

 

Isdin is present in 65 countries and 70% of its sales are international. It has a workforce of 1,700 employees worldwide. According to the latest published data, last year Isdin posted sales of €642 million, 13% more than in the last financial year. It also achieved a profit of €66 million, up 32%, with no structural debt.

 

The Board of Directors will now begin a transition process to appoint a new chairman, while Juan Naya continues as CEO (a position he has held since 2016) in an unchanged management team. Management’s challenge is for the company to reach €1 billion in sales.

 

Marian Puig is a member of the family that owns the Puig company, and brother of its executive chairman, Marc Puig. In fact, Isdin was born in 1975 after the alliance of the Puig and Esteve families, and the company continues to be 50% owned by the Puig fragrance company and Esteve pharmaceuticals.
