David Group’s Expansion Drive: Ends Year with 60 New Stores in Latin America
As the year progresses, the Latin American partner of global brands readies to unveil new storefronts in Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, and Peru, spotlighting labels like Adidas, Bath & Body Works, and American Eagle.
Grupo David continues to grow international fashion in Latin America. The Panama-based company accelerates in the final stretch of the year with more stores in different countries in the region, having reached 360 points of sale this year, as Gerardo Marcano, operations director of Grupo David told Modaes.
All in all, the company will close the year with more than sixty openings, distributed among the fourteen Latin American markets in which it is present with its pool of brands.
By the end of the year, Grupo David plans to open a new Adidas store in Panama City and an American Eagle Outfitters store in Ciudad del Este. Another chain to be promoted is Bath&Body Works, which will have new points of sale in Colombia, Peru and Venezuela by 2026.
Victoria’s Secret, one of the spearheads of Grupo David, will also extend its presence in Venezuela, with a flagship store and a small-format store in Buenos Aires.
Grupo David to open Peru’s first Tumi luggage store in Jockey Plaza
Recently, the U.S. intimate apparel chain opened its first flagship store in the Argentine capital, as reported by Modaes, and last week raised the shutter on another store in the Dominican Republic.
Grupo David’s roadmap will also continue in Peru, where it will open the first store of the Tumi luggage brand. The store will be located in the Jockey Plaza shopping center in Lima and is scheduled to open in mid-December.
In addition, the company will strengthen the business of the Australian Cotton On. After taking control of the brand for the Venezuelan market, Grupo David will take the brand to Curaçao this year.
The company will also open stores of the Turkish chain LC Waikiki in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic
The latest brand to be promoted by the group is the Turkish fast fashion chain LC Waikiki, which will open in the Megacentro shopping center in the Dominican Republic, as well as two other stores in Venezuela.
Grupo David expects to close the year with growth of more than 12%, which is what it had accumulated up to December. “We are confident that there is still the month with the most sales and that with the new openings we will exceed this figure,“ Marcano points out.
Looking ahead to next year, the Latin American company plans to add more brands to its portfolio and continue to grow in the region. The company has already closed 21 new locations for 2026.
Grupo David has more than half a century of experience representing international brands in Latin America. Founded in Venezuela, but headquartered in Panama, the company has distribution licenses for Adidas, La Martina, Karl Lagerfeld, American Eagle and Victoria’s Secret, among other brands.
