Farfetch makes another move in secondhand and allies with Thrift+
Through the collaboration, customers of the platform will be able to obtain store credit to spend on Farfetch products.

Farfetch takes another step towards secondhand. The British ecommerce platform has partnered with the company specialized in secondhand sale Thrift + to promote the sale of unwanted clothes.
Through the collaboration, clients of the group can donate two-thirds of the profits to a charity of their choice and the remaining amount can be spent on Farfecth credit or given as a donation.
The deal includes that customers only need to pack their garments and book a free pick-up service or drop off the package at a drop-off point and then Thrift+ will manage sales. For now, the service is only available in the United Kingdom.
Farfetch created the Farfetch Second Life platform last May
“We make donating secondhand clothes more effective, more transparent and more convenient giving secondhand shoppers the same quality shopping experience as regular shoppers,” said Thrift+ founder Joe Metcalf.
This is not the first time Farfetch enters secondhand. A few months ago, the British company created the Farfetch Second Life platform in which it allows owners of high-end handbags to sell them in exchange for credit for Farfecth’s own ecommerce.
