The Japanese conglomerate has wrapped up the first half of the fiscal year with sales reaching 402.7 billion yen ($2.71 billion) and a profit of 53.6 billion yen ($361.8 million), setting a new benchmark.

Asics is aiming for another record year. The Japanese fashion and sports equipment group is once again closing a new upward period, in line with the last two consecutive years of record sales in the company’s history. Now, the company has ended the first half of fiscal 2025 with a double-digit increase in both revenue and earnings for the period.

 

Specifically, Asics closed the first six months of the year with sales of 402.7 billion yen ($2.71 billion), up 17.7% from the same period in 2024. Gross profit, meanwhile, rose to 228.4 billion yen ($1.541 billion), thanks to an increase in its gross margin of 56.7%, up from 55.5% a year ago.

 

The Japanese company’s good results translated into a double-digit increase in profits in the first half of the year. At the end of the period, Asics earned 53.6 billion yen ($361.8 million), 11.4% more than in 2024, when the company’s profit stood at 42.2 billion yen ($284 million).

 

 

 

 

By category, Onitsuka Tiger, one of the sneaker brands of the moment, leads the group’s business growth. In particular, this line ended the first half of the year with a 1.5-fold increase in sales compared with the previous year, to 65.8 billion yen ($444.1 million).

 

Sportstyle items also performed well, with sales of 67.3 billion yen ($454 million), compared with 45.9 billion yen ($309.6 million) in the previous year. In a much lower growth range is the rise in sales of the core business, running, where Asics has accumulated a turnover of 184.9 billion yen ($1,247 million), up 8.2%.

 

The Japanese group also increased sales in the core performance and fashion and equipment segments by 4.8% and 6.9%, respectively, to 44.1 billion yen ($297.6 million) and 20 billion yen ($193 million).

 

By markets, Asics’ business in Japan, its parent market, posted the strongest growth, up 35.4% to 61.1 billion yen ($412.3 million). Europe remains the bulk of the Japanese company’s business, where it sold a total of 113.7 billion yen ($767.4 million), 24.2% more than the previous year, while in North America the increase was much lower, at 9.1%, to 73.9 billion yen ($498.7 million).
