Spanish Streetwear Brand Eme Studios Aims to Triple Revenue as U.S. Expansion Gains Pace

The Spanish streetwear label, originally launched as a digital-native brand, is accelerating its international roadmap with the opening of a U.S. pop-up store scheduled for next year. The initiative follows a first phase of market exploration through showroom presentations aimed at assessing demand and building wholesale relationships.

Eme Studios is getting stronger in the street. The Spanish streetwear company, which shares the market with other companies such as Nude Project, Blue Banana or Scuffers, is approaching its tenth anniversary with the aim of growing at the accelerated pace of recent years. After reaching a turnover of almost four million euros in 2023, Eme Studios, which was born as a pure player, is now betting on retail, with new openings planned in Barcelona and Valencia, and its sights set on Amsterdam and New York.

The company, which launches new drops of items every two weeks, has tripled sales annually since 2021, when it closed the year with a turnover of almost 400,000 euros. A year later, Eme Studios’ turnover exceeded €1 million for the first time, to stand at €1.2 million at year-end, and has continued to grow to close 2023 at €3.7 million.

“The goal remains the same, we tripled our business last year, and we expect to do so also this 2025,“ explains Conra Martinez, founder of the company, to Modaes, although she prefers not to reveal the exact figure of the year-end. The young entrepreneur has been at the helm of Eme Studios since 2018, the year he founded the company, although it is a role he also shares with Gabriel Morón, who joined as a partner just a year later, in 2019.

Despite being born as a digital native, the company launched into the physical channel in mid-2024, with the opening of its flagship store in Madrid, the only store it still has today. In 2025, however, Eme Studios plans to expand its presence on the street, with another opening in the Spanish capital, a store in Barcelona and a third in Valencia.

This month, the company will open the doors of both the Valencia location (which was initially planned for last spring), as well as a new store in Madrid’s Las Rozas Village shopping center. Later in September, the company will also launch a first store in Barcelona, also a few months later than initially planned.

Despite the momentum that the streetwear company is taking in domestic retail, the strategic plan also involves taking its offer to international markets, which already account for 63% of Eme Studios’ turnover. Specifically, the company plans to open its first store in a foreign market in 2026, for which it has chosen Amsterdam (Netherlands).

“It is our second strongest international market in the online channel, behind only the United States,“ the entrepreneurs explain. The choice to open in Europe rather than in the North American power, despite the fact that the country has more weight in Eme Studios’ business, has been motivated mainly by tariffs. “We had a possible first location that was almost closed,“ say the founders.

Even so, the company maintains its plans in the country, and after opening a showroom in New York for two months to test the U.S. market, it hopes to be able to return through a pop up during the next year. The company does rule out entering the multi-brand channel, both inside and outside Spain.

Eme Studios currently employs around 45 workers at its offices, located in Madrid. The size of the team, however, has been increasing in recent years, so the company will be moving to a larger building next door by the end of the summer.

The company is still led today by Martínez and Morón, who, unlike other companies similar to Eme Studios, do not divide management by departments. “The company’s capital is divided almost equally between them, and they also have a third minority partner.

To finance growth, for the moment the company has ruled out opening the capital of Eme Studios, and the expansion of the physical channel is being carried out through the company’s cash flow. Precisely the system of drops or capsule releases every two weeks has allowed them to maintain this funding, thanks to a better payment structure.
