More Latin American fashion in the United States. In a key step in the internationalization of Colombian fashion, Chevignon, which specializes in denim, has made its physical landing in the U.S. market with the opening of its first store in the state of Texas.
The store is located on the second floor of The Galleria shopping mall in the city of Houston. There, Chevignon shares space with international giants such as Zara, H&M, Gap, Mango and American Eagle Outfitters. The new store also has a denim customization and alteration area.
The opening at The Galleria is part of Chevignon’s expansion plan in the U.S. market. The Colombian company plans to open at least ten stores in Texas in the next five years.
In this way, the company confirms its commitment to retail, following the expansion format it has had in other international markets. Until now, Chevignon operated in the United States only through the online channel.

In the rest of the Americas, the Colombian firm has physical and digital stores in Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Guatemala and Costa Rica. In Colombia, meanwhile, it operates a commercial network of more than seventy stores.
Chevignon, of French origin, is one of the most recognized brands in the Colombian denim industry. The company specializes in jeans and denim garments, but offers a total look for men, women and children, with prices ranging from $100 for a pair of jeans to $300 for a leather jacket.
Chevignon is currently managed by Juan Urquijo, who has been with the company for more than fifteen years, having held positions as commercial manager or store director for Colombia until his appointment as general manager of the brand in September 2022.
Headquartered in Medellin, Chevignon operates in Colombia through Grupo Uribe, also a partner in the country of Mango or American Eagle Outfitters. The origins of the French brand date back to 1987, when Guy Azoulay named the company after French pilot Charles Chevignon.

The company took its first steps producing leather garments, imitating aviator-style jackets. In 1989, the group launched its women’s line and, in 1991, Chevignon made the leap abroad with the launch of its first stores outside its local market.
From 1994 to 2019, Chevignon was in the hands of the French group Vivarte, which finalized the sale of the brand to a trio of French investors formed by Groupe Royer and fashion distribution specialists Stéphane Collaert and Thierry Le Guénic.
