Stella McCartney Recognized by The Nat for Her Eco-Friendly Innovations
The proposal has been presented in London with figures such as Harrison Ford and David Attenborough. The initiative seeks to mobilize private capital to close the $710 billion environmental financing gap.
The Nat burst onto the international scene as a cultural platform focused on environmental protection. Launched in London during the London Climate Action Week, held at the end of June, the initiative was born with a clear objective: to strengthen private investment in ecological restoration and close a financing gap of $710 billion.
Spearheaded by fashion designer and sustainability advocate Stella McCartney, The Nat brings together influential voices from the cultural, scientific, business and activist arenas. The project’s ambassadors include names such as actor Harrison Ford, Conservation International executive director M. Sanjayan, activist Wanjira Mathai, Coral Gardeners founder Titouan Bernicot and actress Sabrina Elba.
The platform’s next big step will be its inaugural gala, the Nat Gala, scheduled for September in New York, coinciding with the opening of the United Nations General Assembly, which is expected to raise $20 million for marine and forest ecosystem restoration projects in collaboration with Conservation International.
The Nat is a platform that promotes a new alliance between culture and nature
During the gala, The Nat will pay tribute to two key figures in environmental activism: the natural scientist Sir David Attenborough and the British designer Stella McCartney, for their contribution to the defense of biodiversity from the fields of art, fashion and outreach.
The Nat is presented not only as an awareness campaign, but as a transversal movement that integrates art, fashion, music, gastronomy and cinema to place nature at the center of the public conversation. Its promoters argue that cultural change is essential to achieve a structural transformation in environmental conservation.
The project will also include an annual program called Solutions Series, focused on key sectors such as food, fashion, finance and future technologies, always from a regenerative perspective and with the support of entities such as Unicef, The Climate Pledge, Deloitte and Mastercard.
