It’s a British luxury house founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, a draper’s apprentice that opened his own store in Basingstoke, England. In 1879, Burberry introduced in his brand the gabardine, a hardwearing, water-resistant yet breathable fabric that is the iconic piece of the brand. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.

The British luxury company has achieved a revenue of 150.1 million pounds (192.7 million dollars) boosted by new accounting standard IFRS 16. Excluding the impact of the new measures, the group’s profit increased by 11%.
