WTO gives the US green light to new tariffs that could impact fashion

Trade war gets to the European Union. After long deliberation, the World Trade Organization (WTO) has given the United States green light to impose tariffs on European imports for 7.5 billion dollars as a response to ilegal subsides given to European company Airbus. 

The United States, that wanted to target 11 billion dollars imports, will publish in the next few days the list of goods that could be targeted. Tariffs could be official in less than month.

A provisional list included fashion items like bags and suits and if the tariff raise becomes effective, it will imply a rise in the prices of European fashion in The United States. This is not the first time that fashion suffers with trade war. In September, many items of the sector, from machinery to clothing, were among those hit with 25% tariffs on Chinese imports.
