Adidas Debuts Trendy Capsule for Furry Friends
The German company has unleashed a streetwear collection tailored for pets, featuring tracksuits, vests, harnesses, and even matching sweaters for owners. Currently, the Pet Collection is exclusively available in the Chinese market.
Adidas brings streetwear to the little furry ones. The German group has launched a new streetwear capsule that is unique in the world, with tracksuits, vests, windbreakers, backpacks and harnesses that can be worn by pets. The brand premiered Pet Collection in the Chinese market in May, and following its successful reception, has launched a new collection this October.
The line includes windbreakers, quilted vests and tracksuit sets with the brand’s logo and iconic three stripes and with water-repellent fabrics and insulated interior. The collection designed for dogs and cats with snap closures and zippers for easy dressing also features matching sweaters for their owners.
Adidas joins the pet accessory craze. At the end of September, Zara celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a pop-up in Paris, where it exhibited its fifty collaborations with creators from fields as diverse as fashion, music, film, photography, architecture and industrial design. Among the unique pieces was a pet carrier designed by photographer Steven Meisel, priced at €699.
Brands such as Adidas and Zara have joined the fever for pet accessories with their latest collections
The textile sector is not the only one betting on dressing pets, also the Chinese jewelry company Chow Tai Fook broke into the luxury market for pets with a pioneering line in China in mid-June.
Adidas ended the first half of the current fiscal year with a more than doubling of its net income and a 7.3% rise in revenues, following a second quarter in which it maintained its strong momentum. In the first six months of the year (period ended June 30th), the German company posted revenues of €12.105 billion, up 7.3% from €11.28 billion in the same period of the previous year.
