VF Corporation recruits a new creative director for Lee formerly at Hugo Boss and Diesel

VF Corporation captures denim talent for Lee. The company, which also owns brands such as Vans and The North Face, has hired Michael Kampe, formerly employed at Hugo Boss, Diesel and Scotch&Soda, as the new artistic director of its denim brand.

Kampe, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (Belgium), has a long career in the industry. The creative joins Lee from Hugo Boss, where he was responsible for design of men’s and women’s casualwear and athleisure collections.

Previously, Kampe was denim creative director of Dutch brand Scotch & Soda, after a period working as menswear fashion designer at Diesel. VF Corporation, Lee’s parent company, ended the first quarter with a profit of 160.4 million dollars (137.9 million euros), 46% more.

The group expects to close the current fiscal year with sales of between 13.6 billion and 13.7 billion dollars (11.69 billion and 11.78 billion euros), which would mean a year-on-year increase of between 10% and 11%. In the first quarter, VF’s revenues soared by 23.8% to 2.79 billion dollars (2.4 billion euros).
