Temu Strengthens Lobbying Efforts by Joining International Trademark Association
The Chinese platform has joined forces with the International Trademark Association as a corporate member, engaging in initiatives aimed at enhancing intellectual property protection and combating counterfeiting.
Temu strengthens its lobbying arm. Global marketplace Temu has joined the International Trademark Association (Inta) as a corporate member and part of its Anti-Counterfeiting Committee, the Asian platform said in a statement.
By joining Inta, which brings together more than 6,700 organizations representing more than 37,000 trademark professionals and brand owners in 181 countries, reinforces its commitment to creating a trusted online marketplace and driving intellectual property protection globally through broader, cross-sector collaboration.
Inta appreciates Temu’s willingness to participate in anti-counterfeiting initiatives, including the annual Anti-Counterfeiting Workshop and the Inta Online Recall Certification Program. s Online Recall Certification Program, which “serve to share best practices and connect stakeholders,“ said INTA’s Director of Anti-Counterfeiting, Alastair Gray.

For its part, a spokesperson for the Asian platform stressed that its “joining Inta and participating in its Anti-Counterfeiting Committee reflects the continued commitment to ensure a reliable online shopping experience.“
The Asian company has also been affected by the ongoing tariff war. PDD Holdings Group, Temu’s parent company, posted an attributable net profit of 14.742 billion yuan ($2,049 billion) at the end of the first quarter of 2025, a 47% drop compared to the same period last year.
The Chinese company’s revenues totaled 95.672 billion yuan ($13,297 billion), up 10% from January to March of the previous year. The group does not break down the evolution of Temu’s business, so it does not publish separately the turnover corresponding to the marketplace.
