Pinko lands in South Korea: opens two stores with a local partner

Pinko expands footprint abroad. The Italian women’s fashion brand Pinko lands in South Korea in collaboration with Mitsui & Co. Italia and La Pace as a local partner. The collaboration with Mitsui & Co. Italia and its local partner, La Pace as a local partner, has led to the opening of two stores located within two of Korea’s most important duty-free shopping destinations.

These new openings are the outcome of the brand’s expansion strategy. Pinko opened its first store in Korea in late January of this year, at Shilla Duty Free Downtown Store in Seoul, which also houses the boutiques of most prestigious brands. The Italian’s company first launch in the country was also achieved through its partnerships.

Pinko’s retail expansion plan in the Korean market also includes the opening of two new stores by the end of 2020, while the company aims to open a total of 14 boutiques, 6 inside department stores and 8 in destinations free of taxes, in the next three years.

The privately held company is headquartered Fidenza, a town in Italy. It was founded in the eighties by its current CEO and president, Pietro Negra and his wife Cristina Rubini.
