Gap appoints new CEO for Athleta
The fashion retailer has appointed Mary Beth Laughton as president and CEO of the sportswear chain. She will take the role at the end of October.
Gap restructures Athleta’s helm. The American retailer, fourth by revenue in the world, has rearranged its team with the signing of a new CEO for the sportswear chain.
The company has signed Mary Beth Laughton as CEO and president of Athtleta. The executive has a long career in the sector after having worked in companies like Sephora and Nike in the ecommerce division.
Laughton, who will take her role at the end of October, replaces Nancy Green in the presidency of Ahtleta, who left her position at the end of July to take up the same role in Old Navy, another Gap chain.
The American company closed its fiscal year 2018, ended February 2, with an increase of 18% of its net profit, up to 1 billion dollars (881 million euros). The group’s sales, on the other hand, also evolved upwards, with a growth of 4.5%, to 16.5 billion dollars (14.5 billion euros).
